Samuel Piggott — Senior Unity/C# Developer
I build Unity systems from scratch or extend what's already there — safely, without rewriting what works.
I'm a Unity/C# developer with over a decade of professional experience, working in Unity since 2013. I can build a system from the ground up, but most of my work is inside existing projects: I understand a codebase deeply before I touch it, extend it in a way that fits how it's already built, and I don't rewrite what already works. That same depth of understanding is what lets me diagnose a project as well as build in it — so when something's broken and you don't know why, I can find and fix that too.
What I take on
- — New systems built from scratch, or new features built into your existing Unity project — either way, made to fit rather than fight what's around them
- — Reworking or hardening systems that work but weren't built to last — performance, structure, edge cases
- — Diagnosing and fixing specific bugs, including the ones that only show up on device or that nobody's been able to pin down
- — Getting an unfamiliar or inherited codebase understood well enough to move forward with confidence
How I work
Diagnose
Whether I'm adding to your project or tracking down a problem, I start by understanding what's already there — how it's built and why — before I touch anything.
Scope
I tell you plainly what the work involves and where it starts and stops — what I'll build, or what's actually wrong — so we've agreed the shape of it before any larger commitment.
Deliver
I do that specific thing, cleanly. You get working code, a clear explanation of what I did, and none of your existing code rewritten around it.
Previously at Jagex, NeonPlay, Peaksel and Tree Card, among others — full history on the portfolio. Recent work includes core development on the Nardagani Reading Program, a released Unity-based learning app.
If you've got a working Unity project and need someone to build into it carefully — or find out why something's broken — email me a short description of what you're working on and what you need done, and I'll reply within 1–3 business days.
